Free Website Qualifications

ChurchServe does not extend the free web site offer do just anyone wanting to put up web pages. We have organized a list of general qualifications that can help determine if you or your organization meet our requirements for the free web site service. Even if you seem to meet all the listed requirements, you may still be rejected (we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone or any organization for any reason). Furthermore, any organization requesting a free web site will need to agree to our Terms of Service.

General Qualifications:

  • Organization must be a qualifying non-profit Christian church or ministry (see below).
  • Must have proper authority to establish web site for the organization represented -- no "unofficial" or "fan" web sites.
  • No commercial entity or person selling items (note: this usually violates #1).

Definition of a "qualifying non-profit Christian church or ministry"

The term "Christian" requires further defining -- although it shouldn't require this. Not all organizations that claim to be "Christian" are -- in fact -- Christian. We usually classify these organizations as "cults" -- which simply means that these groups stray too far from what are traditionally considered the "orthodox" or "fundamental" beliefs of Christianity. This distinction does not imply that everyone who are members of these sects are going to Hell, but rather, recognizes that such organizations do not preach the "true" Gospel according to the Bible. These organizations will not be classified as "Christian" for our purposes.

Non-Christian Religions

The first and most obvious group of sects would be non-Christian religions -- Islam/Muslim, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, etc. These groups do not just stretch the Gospel a little, but preach an entirely different "gospel" and promote and worship other gods. These religions do not accept God (Jehovah) in the same way or concept as the Judeo-Christian monotheistic personal God concept or at least reject Jesus Christ as the Messiah, Son of God, and Savior of the World.

Quasy- or Psuedo-Christian Sects

The second and more controversial group are "Christian cults" or Quasy-Christian groups -- sects that claim some aspects of Christianity, but still do not preach the full, true Gospel by Jesus Christ. Often, these groups fail to be considered "Christian" by the majority of Christianity because they take away or add to fundamental elements. Some groups add "other" books into the Bible or use in addition to the Bible (with equal or greater standing) [The Bible strictly forbids this]. Other sects try to combine other religions with Christianity -- like combining Buddhism with Christianity.

Here's a good test: the Salvation Question

By the answer to "How can a person be saved?" you can sift out most cults. If the answer is something like "well, no one can really be 'saved'.", or "well, each person chooses their personal path to god", or "just do more good things than bad" -- then we probably would not call it a Christian sect. Or, if the answer is not something like "For a person to be saved, one must believe that our Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for their sins and faith in Jesus Christ is required for eternal Salvation".-- then that organization probably does not qualify.

Reason for our Qualification Standards

We are a Christian owned and operated company. ChurchServe wishes to provide free web space to organizations that promote the body of Christ and help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order that all may come to know Him.
