Terms and Agreement

Please read this page before proceeding to the Free Web Site Application form.

Requirements and Terms:

  • Your organization must be a non-profit Christian organization (church, ministry, evangelist, charity, etc). We do not accept for-profit organizations (Christian or not) or personal web sites for free web sites. If your organization is interested in web hosting, ChurchServe offers fee-based hosting at affordable rates.
  • You must have adequate permission to establish a web site on behalf of your organization. We no longer accept "Fan" or "Unofficial" web sites because of the confusion this situation causes. The only possible exception would be a temporary site to "sell" the idea of an Internet site to your organization -- once again, it would be wise to get permission before establishing a test site. We cannot be held responsible for the official/non-official nature of sites established on ChurchServe. We take reasonable steps to minimize problems in this regard.
  • Your site must promote your ministry which promotes Jesus Christ.
  • Your site's content must be Christian in nature and it cannot contain explicit/adult material.
  • Do not use copyrighted material/graphics without proper permission and credit.
  • Do not post illegal information/software. Also known as "pirated software" or "warez".
  • You must maintain a valid e-mail address, contact name, and phone number with ChurchServe. This ensures that we can contact you if we have problems/disputes with your site. This information will not be sold/given to third party organizations. ChurchServe may periodically send e-mails about new services or special announcements.
  • Absolutely no scripts with intent in denying resources or service to ChurchServe or its web sites may be loaded and used on your site. You will be banned immediately from ChurchServe and without notification. We will take whatever steps are necessary to destroy malicious scripts and programs.
  • We reserve the right to change the conditions or space allowance of this service at any time. Such changes will be posted to ChurchServe's web site. Visit our site for changes in policy on a regular basis.
  • An approved website must show some signs of usage within 45 days of establishment. If a website does make use of their website within the 45 days allowed, ChurchServe may assume abandonment of requested account and the account will be removed and all files deleted.
  • Websites must be kept reasonably current. Websites that appear to be outdated to the point of non-use will be suspect of neglect and abandonment. Undersuch conditions, ChurchServe may make reasonable attempts to contact the owners or original requesting persons before removing the account.
  • We do not support forwarding from other servers. Some companies use a practice of establishing a shorter or different website address or even domain name which only forwards to free accounts -- ChurchServe does not support this activity. Websites interested in a low-cost way to use a custom website address should see our paid services.
  • We reserve the right to remove your web site for not conforming to our requirements and terms. The action of establishing a free web site means that you agree with our requirements regardless if you have read this information or not. Also, we do not agree that all organizations claiming to be Christian are Christian -- therefore, we may not accept organizations that are considered "cults" or non-Christian by ChurchServe's own definitions.
  • You must agree with ALL of the above requirements.

We realize that there are many regulations. To simplify this task, just ask yourself "What Would Jesus Upload?" if Jesus had a web site. If it edifies the body of Christ and promotes your ministry which promotes Jesus, then it is probably acceptable content. If it distracts or divides the body of Christ, then it is probably not acceptable content.

Other Considerations:

  • ChurchServe will setup an FTP account for uploading webpages and related content, if you are not familiar with FTP (File Transfer Protocol), please visit our Support website.

If you agree with the above statements, please proceed to the Free Web Site Application. The next form will submit your request for a free web site.

Important Notice:

If you/your organization already has a free web site with ChurchServe and you/your organization ARE NOT IN AGREEMENT with this Terms of Service, contact support@churchserve.com immediately to have your site removed.
